SSCT fgHEMIS

About

The SSCT fgHEMIS project aims to design and develop a highly-scalable higher education management information system for higher education institutions

The project is funded by the government through the Commission of Higher Education's Smart Campus initiative in its drive to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in Philippine higher education.

At the outset, the system is built for the Surigao State College of Technology covering all its campuses located in the municipalities of Mainit, Malimono, and Del Carmen and in Surigao City all of the Province of Surigao del Norte. Eventually, the technology can be transfered to and used by other higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines.

Services

fgHEMIS provides services with the following components

LMS

The learning management system (LMS) facilitates the online delivery of instruction during the pandemic. This will allow teaching and learning to continue despite the many challenges brought about by community lockdowns.

FIS

The financial information system (FIS) provides a convenient way of doing financial and other administrative activities through the use of ICT. The system covers processes in HR, procurement, supply and inventory, and the accounting system.

Connectivity

To facilitate seamless integration of the new system, the project also includes the fiber-backbone network infrastructure that will remarkably improve ICT technology connectivity in all campuses of the institution.
